Energy Storage Applications in Power Systems

Abstract

Dr. Zongjie Wang's research interests focus on modern power systems, grid resilience, and renewable energy integration through leveraging data analytics, non-linear optimization, and coordinated transmission and distribution (T&D) systems. Her projects include the development of new algorithms for OPF in power systems with high penetration of renewable energy sources, bi-level optimization between T&D systems, and so on. As an invited speaker, Dr. Wang presented her research at the headquarters of the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's technical meeting in Washington, DC, in 2019 and 2023. Dr. Wang is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Power & Energy Society (PES). She has been a member of many IEEE committees such as the PEEC committee. She has served as a guest editor for many journals, including Frontiers in Energy Research. Dr. Wang has collaborated with many power system researchers in industries and institutions such as ISOs, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Cornell, among others.
