Enhance thermal efficiency of parabolic trough collector using Tungsten oxide/Syltherm 800 nanofluid

Abstract: Abstract:Development of thermal efficiency of the concentrated solar energy especially parabolic trough collector using various nanofluids types has a taken high interest in recent years. In this article enhancement thermal performance inside the heating collecting element of trough collector type LS-2 was simulated and improved using nanofluid consist of Tungsten Oxide WO3 inserting in Syltherm 800. Nanofluid effect was examined by solving the energy balance equation using MATLAB Software to cover wide range … Show more

“…The transcritical CO 2 power cycle (working with heat sink temperature below and heat source temperature above the critical temperature (T cr ) of CO 2 , namely 31 8C) has significant and sufficient potential to convert the heat to produce power (electricity) by using the carbon dioxide as a working fluid due to its good thermodynamic and environmental properties [1,2]. Many thermodynamics cycles are applicable in the temperature below 350 8C, like the CO 2 transcritical power cycle, Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and Trilateral Flash Cycle (TFC), instead of high-temperature steam Rankine Cycle (RC) [1,[3][4][5]. CO 2 has a low critical temperature, which makes it appropriate for utilizing a low heat sourcegeothermal [6,7].…”

“…Recently, there has been increasing attention to using clean and renewable energy and its applications. This attention is due to the expanding rate of electricity prices, the decrease in fossil fuel levels worldwide, and increased demand as a result to the growing population, side by side with environmental problems [1]. Solar energy is considered as the most widely used and the most important compared to other types of clean energy.…”
