The objective of this study is to design, simulate and implement an assistive wearable navigation device for visual impaired. In this paper we describe a belt with vibrators that convert directional information into tactile signals. Since the tactile sense provides the information in an unobtrusive way, it is suited for daily use in mobile environments. We have developed prototype systems and simulations of simple environment. Preliminary evaluation suggests that this device is easy to use while no special training is required.
