Enhanced power generation for total‐cross‐tied PV array using simulated annealing under partial shading conditions

Abstract: Shade phenomena affect the PV module's power output, introduce multiple peak points in PV characteristics, and shorten the expected life cycle of the module. In order to prevent this issue, PV modules should reconfigure, namely, altering the electrical connections between PV modules based on the irradiance without changing their physical locations. As a result, the shading effects can distribute over the array and increase power output. This paper proposed a novel reconfiguration technique based on the simulat… Show more

“…The location of the modules in the TCT network is changed according to the skyscraper model in one go for all shadings [16]. This method requires more wiring; this would increase the voltage drop in the PV systems [16]. Shading effects cannot be spread uniformly across every row [16].…”

“…[ 30,31 ] Furthermore, defining the initial parameters (c1$\left(\text{c}\right)_{1}$,c2$\left(\text{c}\right)_{2}$, w ) in PSO is complicated. Coyote optimization, [ 32 ] population‐based DPVAR, [ 33 ] adaptive jellyfish algorithm, [ 34 ] marine predators algorithm, [ 35 ] modified Harris hawks optimizer (MHHO), [ 36 ] chaos map‐based reconfiguration, [ 37 ] and simulated annealing [ 38 ] are different algorithms presented in the literature to enhance the power by reconfiguration. However, tuning the parameters to achieve an optimal solution is a tedious task in these algorithms.…”
