Enhancement of Lithium Niobate nanophotonic structures via spin-coating technique for optical waveguides application

Abstract: Abstract. This work is dedicated to investigation of temperature effects in Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) nanostructures. The LiNbO3 nanostructures were deposited on glass substrate by spincoating technique. LiNbO3 was set down at 3000 rpm for 30 sec and annealed from 100 to 600 o C. The structures were characterized and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and ultraviolet visible (UV-vis) spectrophotometer. The measured results have showed that by increasing annealing temperatures, the structures start t… Show more

“…The XRD pattern shown in figure 3 informs the formation of phase pure tetragonal rutile and anatase, where 'A' and 'R' indicate anatase-phase crystals and rutile-phase crystals, respectively [18], as seen in the figure, for the energies 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1000 mJ keeping this order the peaks for plane A(101) were located at 2θ = 24.8, 24.4, and not shown for the higher energies. For plane R( 110 The crystallite size (D) of all anatase and rutile peaks was calculated by using the Scherrer equation [19][20][21]…”

“…where K is Scherrer's constant equal to 0.94 (depends on the crystal shape, equals 1 for spherical shape), λ is the wavelength of the x-ray and equals 0.15406 nm, β is the (FWHM) full width at half maximum of the peak (in Radians), and θ B represents the position of the peak. The dislocation density (δ) was calculated using [22][23][24]…”

“…1064 nm deposition wavelength sample showed four peaks at 2θ of 27.52 (R 110), 35.92 (A 103), 36.08 (A 004), and 61.76 (R 002) degrees, the 532nm deposition wavelength sample showed three peaks at 2θ of 27.36 (R 110), 36.36 (A 103), and became more apparent when the laser wavelength was changed from 1064 nm to 532 nm and 355 nm, indicating that the lower wavelength depositions were more uniform and the TiO 2 crystals were better distributed. Scherrer equation was used to calculate the crystallite size (D) of anatase and rutile crystals [48][49][50][51][52]…”

“…PLAL, which stands for metal or metal oxide-NCs, has recently been acknowledged as the most adaptable, promising, and straightforward technique for producing such materials. An instance of the effective use of the Nd:YAG laser is the creation of Ag nanoparticle-decorated carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to enhance the photocatalytic efficacy in the removal of naphthalene from 67 79 water 80 and MWCNTs/Ag NCs for catalytic degradable material for nitro compounds and dyes 81 . The PLAL process has many benefits, including simplicity, low cost, a decrease in by-product generation, the absence of catalyst and vacuum requirements, high-purity nanomaterial manufacturing, and precise control over particle shape and size by modifying laser settings.…”
