Abstract:Here the theoretical and experimental investigation for enhancing surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensitivity in a side-coupled excitation system by the application of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) polymer thin films is presented. Proper selection of film materials, gold layer thicknesses d Au and SPR incident angle (θ SPR) resulted in the increased effective refractive index of the sensing region, and hence of the device sensitivity, and the dynamic detection range. This work demonstrates, by first-order appr… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
