Enhancing the Information Capacity With Modulated Orbital Angular Momentum Holography

Abstract: The orbital angular momentum (OAM) holography has been developed and experimentally demonstrated capable of holographic multiplexation and high-security encryption. However, the helical phase of an OAM mode can only be encoded into one hologram associated with a target image, and this severely limits the information capacity in practical applications. The modulated orbital angular momentum (MOAM) holography is proposed by imposing multiple modulation phase modes onto one OAM mode. Three essential properties, i… Show more

“…Various forms of OAM holography have emerged, such as polarization-encrypted OAM holography, ellipticity-encrypted OAM holography, ultradense perfect OAM multiplexed holography, partial OAM holography, modulated OAM holography, multiple-image and multiple-dimensional encrypted OAM multiplexed holography, and holographic strategy for OAM that incorporates complex features by employing deep-learning algorithms. [19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] Despite these advancements, the capacity for encoded information in OAM multiplexed holography remains limited. Moreover, conventional OAM multiplexed holography lacks an additional degree of freedom to enhance both information security and capacity.…”

“…[ 39 ] The concept of modulated OAM holography utilizing cosine‐modulated OAM beams is also explored. [ 40 ] Additionally, multiple‐image and multiple‐dimensional encrypted OAM multiplexed holography are implemented based on OAM beams with phase jump factors and modulated chiro‐optical beams. [ 41,42 ] Researchers have also proposed a holographic strategy for OAM that incorporates complex features by utilizing OAM‐encrypted holograms in conjunction with deep learning algorithms.…”
