Entanglement dynamics and transfer in a double Jaynes-Cummings model

Abstract

We study the entanglement dynamics for a double Jaynes-Cummings model where two entangled atoms A and B locally interact with independent cavities a and b, respectively, but there are no interactions between locations Aa and Bb. We point out that there exists a parameter range in which simultaneous pairwise entanglement sudden death (ESD) for remote parties, i.e. AB, ab, Ab and Ba, may occur. We show that during this simultaneous ESD period various multipartite entanglement can be created. Our results imply that the pairwise entanglement between two independent locations may be transferred into other multipartite forms which account for the correlations between the two independent locations. entanglement sudden death, multipartite entanglement, double Jaynes-Cummings model Citation:Han F. Therefore, entanglement has been extensively studied in various quantum systems [3][4][5][6][7]. However, in the process of entanglement distribution and qubits manipulation, each qubit is unavoidably exposed to its own uncontrollable environment. This leads to local decoherences which will sooner or later spoil the necessary entanglement of the shared states. Therefore, it is of increasing importance to understand entanglement from its role and manifestation in realistic systems. Recently, a peculiar dynamical feature of entangled states has been experimentally confirmed for the case of two qubits [8]: entanglement may disappear at finite time, in striking contrast with the decoherence of an individual qubit that only decays asymptotically. Such a surprising phenomenon was termed entanglement sudden death (ESD) [9]. Because of its intrinsic and practical interests ESD has attracted much attention [10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25]. It seems that an entangled state undergoing ESD email: jnhanfeng09@163.com would put a limitation to the time of its usefulness in practice and is therefore less robust than the state without ESD. A natural question one usually asks on the ESD is related to where the lost entanglement finally goes. In [26], the researchers studied a two-qubit Bell-like entanglement interacting with independent reservoirs showing that the corresponding reservoirs can experience entanglement sudden birth (ESB) accompanying the ESD of the qubits system.
