Abstract:There is increasing demand for novel antimicrobial agents to tackle the antimicrobial resistance crisis. Here we report that twoEnterobacteriaceae-produced siderophores, enterobactin and salmochelin S4, inhibit the growth ofStaphylococcus aureusisolates, including methicillin-resistanceS. aureus(MRSA) clinical isolates.
