LiPgeEnthalpy changes associated with the formation of the 1:l chelates of the lanthanide ions with N-hydroxyethylethylenediaminetriacetic acid have been determined by a calorimetric method at 2S°C and p = 0.1 (KCI). The various thermodynamic functions corresponding to the formation of the chelates are discussed in terms of the structure of these species and compared with literature data on the corresponding chelates of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid.
