“…Hirsch (2005) proposed the h -index as a single-number measure to assess the scientific output of a researcher, and it has since attracted favourable attention among researchers (Ruscio, 2016). 4 In robustness analyses, we employed two alternative measures of ‘author stature’ (Top 20 entrepreneurship research schools based on publications in (a) quality management journals (Gupta et al, 2016), (b) quality entrepreneurship journals (Markin et al, 2017), and obtained similar findings.…”

“…Many of them assessed the measures of reliability and validity of the IEO construct and its dimensions, without considering other predecessors influencing the IEO dimensions, like the field of study or perceived educational support. Therefore, there is a call (Bolton and Lane, 2012;Gupta et al, 2016) for further research to investigate IEO in the presence of other predecessors in different contexts. Based on the suggestions of entrepreneurship researchers, this study adopted a different approach for analysis, studying IEO influenced by contextual predecessor in the university setting which is perceived educational support, searching for differences between business and STEM students in the insufficiently researched context of central and eastern European countries.…”

“…This wide scope of management journals affords us the opportunity to assess family business literature from a broad perspective rather than limiting the work published exclusively in family business journals (Rovelli et al , 2021). We included the top seven academic journals in management research that publish a wide variety of organizational topics (Gupta et al , 2016); Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review , Administrative Science Quarterly , Journal of Management , Management Science, Organization Science and Strategic Management Journal . These seven journals were chosen based upon the work by Busenitz et al (2003), who identified these as top “business management journals,” which was also informed by citation count (Barman et al , 1991; Johnson and Podsakoff, 1994).…”

“…Second, though we utilised previous family business (Debicki et al , 2009; Swab et al , 2020) and similar management (Gupta et al , 2016) and entrepreneurship (Markin, Swab, and Marshall, 2017) studies to compile our final journal list, the results are influenced and potentially limited by the 33 journals we chose to include in our study, along with the keywords operationalized. Despite these limitations, we believe our study strongly represents the past decade of growth in the field of family business research with our broad search parameters and diverse selection of journal outlets.…”
