Enumeration and Characterization of Mesenchymal Stem Cells from Agedependent Human Dental Tissue

Abstract: Age-dependent chronic and aggressive periodontitis patients need renewal of soft and hard tissue like periodontal ligament, gingiva, cementum and alveolar bone. Hence, multipotent-Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs) of different dental origin like Dental Pulp (DP); Periodontal Ligament (PDL); Gingiva; Apical Papilla (AP) may play important role in regeneration of periodontal tissue. For the accomplishment of this objective, we standardized and validated the manufacturing process of dental-MSCs sources like DP, PD… Show more

“…In the literature, reports on morphometric and histological measurements of the DP regions among temporary and permanent teeth are quite limited. Besides, pulp weight is a parameter that few authors have considered to obtain DPSCs (Alsulaimani et al, 2016; Kellner et al, 2014; Singh et al, 2016). Our research group considers that DP weight could be important as a starting point for the isolation of DPSCs.…”
