Abstract

Resumen: El artículo presenta un panorama general de las relaciones entre envejecimiento y tecnologías digitales. Analiza el contexto social caracterizado por el sobreenvejecimento y la digitalización general de las sociedades desarrolladas. En ese marco se presenta un área emergente de estudio e innovación denominada gerontecnología y se define el papel que la pedagogía y la educación pueden tener en este nuevo ámbito multidisciplinar. Use and perception of gerontechnology: differences in a group of Spanish older adults

“…Although educational interventions in these aspects have proven to improve the adoption rate and positive view of older adults toward technology (Rasi et al , 2021), it is worth noting that gerontechnology has barely been studied by education sector, an area in which technology can help, facilitate and improve educational actions targeting this group. Martín-García (2018) suggest that studying gerontechnology from an educational perspective should be approached from three areas: understanding and identifying factors associated with the difficulty older adults find in using technology; designing appliances, devices and programs adapted to this group from an educational approach; and implementing digital skills training processes so that older adults can use these technologies independently. …”
