Environmental risk evaluation of overseas mining investment based on game theory and an extension matter element model

Abstract: Taking into account the limitations of the single weighting method presently used for the environmental risk evaluation of overseas mining investment, an improved extension evaluation method based on game theory was developed. The method was then applied to real data from the Philippines and used to establish the congener element object and classical domain of the environmental risk of mining investment in the Philippines, based on extension matter element theory. The optimal index weights, based on a balance … Show more

“…determine the indicator weights based on experience and knowledge, which can reflect the decision-maker’s preference but may make the evaluation results too subjective. Objective weighting methods, such as entropy [ 53 , 54 ], standard deviation [ 55 ], and criteria importance though intercrieria correlation (CRITIC) [ 56 ], determine the indicator weights based on actual data, but they do not consider the decision-maker’s preferences. The combined weighting method aims to combine the subjective and objective weights based on a specific principle.…”

“…In addition, the model supports multiattribute risk analysis and is well integrated with the indicator system, taking into account the differences and inaccuracies of indicators at different risk levels [31]. Matter-element extension model is suitable for the evaluation and analysis of complex systems and has been widely applied in investment risk assessment [32], service quality assessment [33], environmental performance assessment [34], and many other fields. Based on the above issues, we will comprehensively identify the construction risks of BIPV project in the subsequent research and construct a risk assessment framework of BIPV project integrated by DEMATEL-variable weight and matter-element extension model from the perspective of four-dimensional risk.…”

“…Based on BIPV industry standards, literature [32,54], and expert discussion, the comprehensive risk of the BIPV project in Qingdao is divided into five grades: I, II, III, IV, and V. I represents "very low," II represents "low," III represents "medium," and IV represents" high." V indicates "very high."…”

“…At present, the main methods for evaluating the risk of overseas mining investment include the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), data envelopment analysis (DEA), artificial neural network (ANN) analysis, support vector machine (SVM), the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the gray evaluation method, sensitivity analysis, the entropy method, the particle swarm algorithm and the BP neural network (Banda 2019;He et al 2021He et al , 2022Ke et al 2012;Khalili-Damghani et al 2016;Memon et al 2015).…”
