All morning the tops were covered with a thin layer of fog, and by the time we reached the summit of Turnhouse Hill (506m) at around midday conditions were perfect for the sighting of this Glory, or Brocken Spectre. The phenomenon was featured at the start of the weather forecast on the evening television broadcast of "BBC East Midlands Today".
