“…This unconformity, overlain by late Pleistocene sediments, was found in the first core at a depth of 8 meters below the sea floor. Piston core evidence indicated a Pleistocene-middle Eocene unconformity (Stehman, 1970). The 6 meter piston core contained 3 meters of lower middle Eocene calcareous ooze overlain by 3 meters of Pleistocene ooze, which in itself contained several discontinuous sedimentary sequences.…”
