Eosinophilic enterocolitis: A rare nosological entity

Abstract

We report the case of a 45-year-old woman with a history of three miscarriages and one stillbirth. She was admitted with a 3 month history of intermittent watery diarrhea at a rate of 4 to 5 stools per day, without mucus or blood, associated with koenig syndrome in the right iliac fossa. She reported a profound deterioration in general condition with weight loss of 10 kg over 3 months. Symptoms worsened a week before admission with the onset of edema in the lower limbs. She had no fever or other associated symptoms. The patient had no history of atopic disease, no known food or drug allergy, and no recent travel abroad.
