Eosinophilic panniculitis, characterized by a prominent infiltration of subcutaneous fat with eosinophils, has been identified in patients with a variety of associated clinical conditions. Burket and Burket reported the first case in 1985.1 To our knowledge, more than 30 additional patients have been described since this initial case report. The study of 18 patients with biopsy diagnoses of eosinophilic panniculitis by Winkelmann, et al. in 1986 revealed diverse patterns of systemic disease, including Wells’ syndrome, vasculitis, atopy, and erythema nodosum.2 We report three male patients of eosinophilic panniculitis with various clinical signs, two of whom had history of trauma or tuberculous pleurisy.
