Epidemic spreading model of complex dynamical network with the heterogeneity of nodes

Abstract: In this paper, we model epidemic spreading by considering the mobility of nodes in complex dynamical network based on mean field theory using differential equations. Moreover, a resistance factor which can characterise the impact of individual's difference on the propagation dynamics in complex dynamical network is proposed by considering the influence of total number of connections and the continuous time to remain in contact. The effect of heterogeneity on the evolution process of propagation dynamics is exp… Show more

“…By means of complex network theory, many scholars explain microscopic mechanisms and dynamic characteristics of some practical issues in society. For example, complex network can be used to reveal the transmission mechanism of computer viruses [70][71][72], the spread process of epidemics [73,74], and the diffusion intensity of rumor [72,75]. For the researches on dynamics of complex network, many research achievements are based on the traditional model of virus spread, such as epidemic models.…”

“…On this subject, many researchers suggested using epidemic spreading models to study the spreading of information due to the resemblance between information propagation and human influenza viruses. For example, Hong et al (2016) studied the mobility of vehicular nodes by using epidemic spreading model; Kim et al (2018) carried out an analogy between the information flow propagation in connected vehicles and the dissemination of an influenza virus among individuals, and then presented an information propagation model considering the impacts of traffic flow; and Wang et al (2017) proposed an information propagation wave model following the epidemic spreading patterns to investigate the information dissemination by introducing an information packet relay control strategy.…”

“…He proposed capacity allocation and load redistribution model respectively, and investigated an in-process restoration strategy [11,12]. Furthermore, he analyzed and modeled epidemic spreading model of complex dynamical network, which is helpful for the designing of effective control strategies [13].…”
