“…Tang et al [9] collected the data repository of physical health survey of elementary and middle school students in Urumqi of Xinjiang region showed that the percentage of poor vision of the 3 survey for 7-to 18-year-old students in 2006, 2011 and 2016 was 26.68%, 30.73% and 36.00%, respectively, and most of them had poor vision condition of myopia. Our subject group also previously conducted a survey on myopia among secondary students in Urumqi compared with that in Yining of Xinjiang [10,11], the results showed that in 2013, the overall myopia rate among secondary students in Urumqi was 60.12%; in 2016, the overall myopia rate among elementary and secondary students in Yining was 38.25%. In 2018, in order to fully follow the spirit of the implementation of the party's nineteenth spirit and the national education assembly, the Ministry of Education decided to select and build a number of pilot counties (cities and districts) for national childhood and adolescent myopia prevention and control reform and a pilot region for national childhood and adolescent myopia prevention and control reform, and Urumqi is the pilot region for myopia prevention and control reform in Xinjiang [12,13].…”
