Abstract:In 1980, the WHO Expert Committee on Diabetes Mellitus (DM) proposed a new classification of diabetes. In it, impaired glucose tolerance (NTG) was identified as an independent clinical class. This was due to the following: diabetes, primarily non-insulin-dependent (NIDDM), as a rule, develops gradually, and several stages can be distinguished in its development [35, 55]. The first of them, according to many experts, is NTG.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
