Abstract:Skin inflammation is an evolutionary-honed protective mechanism that serves to clear noxious cues and irritants and initiate regeneration. Calcium-permeable transient-receptor-potential (TRP) ion channels have critical functions in sensory transduction which is sensitized in skin inflammation.
