Objective Emotional instability during adolescence could make them susceptible to developing mental problems, and these problems could enhance in severity when left unresolved. Other life stressors like job competition, peer pressure, and parental unrealistic expectations could further deteriorate their mental health. Therefore, the present study is designed to investigate the impact of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) on adolescents to manage procrastination, burnout, self-handicapping behavior, and test anxiety to enhance academic motivation and achievement.Materials and Methods A total of 200 students were enrolled for eligibility assessment, and 129 participants met the eligibility criteria. Participants were divided into two groups, the experimental group, and the waitlist control group. All the students completed their demographics form and screening tool, the eligible participants were given assessment measures at pre-post-assessment stages (8 weeks intervals). We used different assessment measures to assess the outcome i.e. General Procrastination Scale (GPS), Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS), Self-handicapping Scale (SHS), Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI), and Living up to Parental Expectation Scale (LPES). Repeated measures ANOVA was used to analyze the results.Results The current RCT findings suggest that CBT substantially reduced emotional and behavioral problems and helped the students manage parental unrealistic expectations in the experimental group compared to the waitlist control condition. Further, CBT significantly reduced the degree of procrastination {F (1, 63) = 25.01, p < .000, η2 = .29} academic burnout {F (1, 63) = 11.08, p < .000, η2 = .16}, test anxiety {F(1, 63) = 88.17, p < .000, η2 = .59}, and self-handicapping {F (3, 56) = 10.17, p < .000, η2 = .16} among adolescents. Overall, CBT significantly helped the students to manage parental unrealistic expectations through providing relationship skills and training {F (3,56) = 546.46, p < .001, η2 = .89)}.Condition: It is concluded that CBT is an effective and evidence-based treatment intervention to address emotional disturbance caused by procrastination, burnout, test anxiety, and self-handicapping behavior among adolescents. Furthermore, it is concluded that CBT is also an effective intervention that helped students to manage peer pressure and parental unrealistic expectations.

This work is the extension of our previous paper [Nikpour et al., J. Electrochem. Soc. 168 060547, 2021] which introduced the multi-phase smoothed particle (MPSP) model. This model was used to simulate the evolution of the microstructure during the drying and calendering manufacturing processes of four different electrodes. The MPSP model uses particle properties to predict overall film properties such as conductivities and elastic moduli and is validated by multiple experiments. In this work the model is used to investigate the effects of active material particle size, shape, orientation, and stiffness on graphitic anodes. The model predicts that smaller active particles produce higher calendered film density, electronic conductivity, MacMullin number, and Young’s modulus, as compared to larger active particles. Rod-shaped active materials have greater ionic transport and lower electronic transport compared to the disk and sphere shapes, which have similar transport properties. During calendering, disk-shaped particles tend to be oriented horizontally, which decreases through-plane ionic transport. Increasing the stiffness of the active material increases film porosity and composite Young’s modulus, while lowering electronic transport and increasing ionic transport.

Background: Antenatal preparations enable women to cope with pregnancy anxiety and promote a healthy pregnancy, safe labor, and it can be very helpful in reducing anxiety and pain associated with labor and delivery. this study was conducted to evaluate the effect of antenatal preparation sessions on mothers' anxiety and labor pain during labor process, Methods: Experimental randomized controlled trial study was conducted among low risk Sudanese pregnant mothers in Omdurman Maternity Hospital from February 2017 to January 2019. Mothers were selected by random sample technique, their number was 286 pregnant women (140 in experimental group and 146 in control group). Experimental group members attended in antenatal preparation sessions and the control group only received routine antenatal care. Data were collected by means of demographic checklist, standard Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), intensity of labor pain based on verbal descriptive scale (VDS), a checklist, related to childbirth process, and likert scale for assessing mother's satisfactions. The data were analyzed by SPSS using T-test and chi-square test.Results: this study showed that there were significant differences between experimental and control groups, in relation to anxiety level, it was (7.67±2.415 vs.11.99±4. 089) respectively (P = 0.000), Pain intensity during first stage of labor was (3.17 ± 0.611 vs.3. 56 ± 0.855) respectively (p= 0.000), while the pain in tensity during second stage of labor was (4.06 ± 0.504 vs.4.49± 0.632) respectively (p= 0.000). Regarding childbirth process there was a significantly lower rate occurrence in the experimental group compared to control in need for induction of labor (2.9%) vs., (19.2) respectively, usage of pain reliever drugs (10.7%) vs. (22.6) respectively and conducting cesarean delivery (10.7%) vs., (19.2) respectively (p. value > 0.05 ). The mean score of satisfaction level regarding labor and delivery experience was (3.94±2. 0.560 vs. 3.55 ± 0.622) respectively (p=0.000). Conclusion:The study concluded that application of antenatal preparation sessions was effective in decreasing anxiety level, pain intensity and some obstetric interventions during labor and delivery process, also the preparation sessions were increased mothers satisfaction level regarding their labor and delivery experience. Study recommended that designing and applying antenatal preparation sessions as an essential component of standard antenatal care.
