Iriarte Azpiazu, Ion (1) (1) Mondragon Unibertsitatea Currently, organisations are operating in contexts of continuous ambiguity and uncertainty, exposed to external factors that are beyond their control and which are evolving at increasingly rapid speeds. These situations require organisations to be immersed in a state of liminality, understood as a context of continuous change and transition. Some authors have suggested that the practice of human-centred design can assist organisations in these high uncertainty contexts. Therefore, with the aim of exploring the contribution of human-centred design (HCD) to the management of liminality in organisations, this communication analyses the concept of liminality in organisations, identifies its characteristics and provides an approach of which human-centred design practices could contribute to addressing liminality in organisations.
