“…S13 † ). The value of β = 135(35) K for TJU-6 is within the reasonable range of Debye temperature for PbBr 2 between 100 and 150 K. 58 60 The temperature coefficient of the band gap ( γ = 0.55(5) meV K –1 ) is higher than some other typical semiconductors ( e.g. InN), 61 suggesting the possible influence of thermal expansion and/or electron–phonon interaction on the band gap in our cationic bromoplumbate materials.…”

“…The ESR spectra after pulse annealing were measured below 8 K. Figure 1 shows a typical ESR spectrum measured at 5 K after photoirradiation at 5 K. The solid lines in ESR signals around 330 mT under UV light irradiation at 77 K were reported by several authors. 20,21,22 However, the ESR signals named as STEL and STH have not been reported to our knowledge. Because of the overlap of the ESR signals, the spectrally well-resolved STEL and STH signals are mainly restricted to the region higher than 340 mT; in the region the intensity ratio of the STEL signals is 4 : 1 and that of the STH signals is 3 : 2 : 1.…”

“…In the early stage around 1970, the localized states induced by ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation at 80 K were observed around g ≈ 2 (Refs. 4,5,6). Figure 1 shows ESR signals photoinduced at 80 K; a set of five resonances around g ≈ 2 was named as "A signal" 5 and is enlarged in the inset.…”

“…In addition, the ESR signals after x-ray irradiation at 10 K were also reported around g ≈ 2, and were named as "B signal" and "C signal." 5 Though some trials were performed, 4,5,6 the localized state responsible for the A signal has been disputable 7 and the origins of the B and C signals have not been identified yet. The next advance was reported by Nistor et al 8 and Hirota et al 9 in 1993; self-trapped electrons (STEL's) induced by x-ray 8 and γ-ray 9 irradiation at 80 K were observed and found to be dimer-molecular Pb 2 3+ centers.…”
