Abstract:The biological function of macromolecular complexes depends not only on large-scale transitions between conformations, but also on small-scale conformational fluctuations at equilibrium. This study shows that detailed information on the equilibrium dynamics of a biocomplex obtained from local resolution (LR) data in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) density maps matches the information obtained in solution by hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass-spectrometry. The structure of the minute virus of mice (MVM) capsid… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
