Abstract:Icing on power transmission lines poses a serious threat to the safety and stability of power grids. Traditional manual patrols are inefficient and unable to effectively monitor ice conditions on the lines. This paper presents a novel ice-monitoring device that employs cylindrical arrays to predict and monitor icing parameters.
