Abstract:Ergodic capacity is investigated for the optical wireless communications employing coherent detection over the Gamma-Gamma turbulence channels. We consider three different adaptive transmission schemes: (i) variable-power and variable-rate adaptive transmission, (ii) channel inversion with fixed rate, and (iii) truncated channel inversion with fixed rate. Highly accurate series approximations are derived for the ergodic capacity of the coherent optical wireless communications using a series expansion of the mo… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
