“…The multidisciplinary team at the Adelaide Bariatric Center, which she leads, has reached out to people living with obesity and have helped them not only to lose weight and regain their confidence, but restore their health, longevity, and quality of life. All this work started in 1996 when, together with her colleagues in Adelaide, she pioneered laparoscopic gastric band surgery [1, 2] and, later, other forms of bariatric, including revisional, surgery [3, 4], in Australia.
