SummaryBackground. Erosive pustular dermatitis of the scalp, also known as amicrobial pustulosis of the scalp, is a rare chronic disorder of unknown etiology mainly reported in elderly individuals. It is characterized by sterile pustules, erosions and crusted lesions, which ultimately result in scarring alopecia. Chronic sun exposure and androgenic alopecia are considered risk factors, and mechanical and chemical traumas are reported to trigger the disease. Objective.
