Erratum: Antinucleon-nucleon potential

Abstract: To the potential VD has to be added the nonlocal central potential where Mp is the proton mass and V 2 is the Lapiacian. Contributions to 4 ( r ) come from the vector mesons p , w, and 4 and from the scalar meson E . Each of the vector mesons contribute to r$(r) the term where V$e is the central, purely electric vector-meson potential of model D, and p is the meson mass. The scalar meson E contributes where V , is the central potential due to the scalar meson in model D. Like the rest of the potential VD, the … Show more

“…The antinucleon-nucleon (N N ) interaction has been studied quite extensively in the past [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9], not least because of the wealth of data collected at the LEAR facility at CERN, cf. the reviews [10][11][12].…”

“…The majority of those investigations has been performed in the traditional meson-exchange framework where the G-parity transformation is exploited to connect the elastic part of theN N interaction with the dynamics in the nucleon-nucleon (N N ) system. Annihilation processes are described either by a simple optical potential (which is often assumed to be spin-as well as energy-independent) [1,2,5,7] or in terms of a coupling to a small number of effective two-body annihilation channels [3,4,9].…”

“…A large part of the efforts of the Nijmegen group in the last decennia has been concentrated on the study of the baryon-baryon [1,2,3], as well as the antibaryon-baryon interaction [4,5]. In first instance this has been the construction of potentials [6,7,8,9,10], but later also partial-wave analyses (PWA) of the experimental scattering data [11,12] were performed.…”

“…For the exchanged mesons and for the nucleons averaged iso-multiplet masses are used, such as the average pion mass m = (2m + +m 0 )/3 = 138. 4 MeV, the nucleon mass M = (M p +M n )/2 = 938.93 MeV, etc. The I = 1 part of the NN-potentials was always obtained by fitting the pp-data.…”

“…The theoretical N-N potential models [12,13,14] based on OBEP derived from the NN potentials using Gparity provide some idea about the N-N interaction. The determination of p-n interaction from the study of p-d scattering is expected to provide a test of the models and the knowledge of the isospin I= 1 state.…”
