Erythrocyte Survival in Chimpanzees, Gibbons and Baboons

Abstract: Erythrocytes of chimpanzees, gibbons and baboons have a half-life (T/2) of 14 days and a life span (T/10) of approximately 50 days based on disappearance of chromium-labeled autogenous red cells. These survival times are about half that found in man.
