“…The CPRE is a group of college and university educators from throughout the US who teach psychiatric rehabilitation courses. The group was founded by the faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Barrett, 2004; Barrett, MacDonald-Wilson, & Nemec, 2005) to address common challenges experienced in producing knowledgeable and competent psychiatric rehabilitation practitioners. One such common challenge is to have the broader behavioral healthcare workforce recognize that assisting people with psychiatric disabilities to achieve their desired rehabilitation outcomes is at least as important as achieving treatment outcomes such as symptom reduction.…”
