Dear EditorPyogenic granuloma (PG), also known as lobular capillary hemangioma or granuloma teleangiectaticum, is a common vascular proliferation that affects the skin and mucous membranes. [1][2][3][4] It affects all ages but is more often in children and young people. 4,5 Although its nature is benign, it is characterized by fast growth and recurrent bleeding periods. 5 Most of the time, it appears as a unique pediculated lesion but multiples tumors also are detected. 2 Although the pathophysiology of PG is unknown, many mechanisms have been proposed, such as pregnancy, trauma, oncological therapies, viruses and drugs like oral contraceptives, retinoids and antiretroviral drugs. [2][3][4] Recurrent bleeding is the main reason why patients look for treatment. 2,5 Regarding the treatment of PG, several options have been described depending on the area, size and patient decisions, including surgical excision, marsupialization, cryotherapy and laser surgery. 3,4,6 This report aims is to show how a rudamentary treatment with common salt can be an effective and pain-free option to treat PGs, especially in children and patients fearful of invasive interventions.
