“…The tick-transmitted haemoparasitoses babesiosis and anaplasmosis are widespread in Argentinean cattle, and despite herd immunity suggesting enzootic stability, clinical disease and deaths occur in many breeding areas (Ganzinelli et al, 2020;Mastropaolo et al, 2009;Morel et al, 2019). In Argentina, a trivalent vaccine based on attenuated local strains of Babesia bovis and Babesia bigemina together with Anaplasma centrale (Lozina et al, 2018) has been successfully employed for decades, reducing parasitaemia, and limiting anaemia, circulatory shock, and neurological signs (Rathinasamy et al, 2019).
