“…The data obtained in this study, as well in other previous ones [ 10 , 23 , 24 , 70 , 71 , 72 ] reinforce the hypothesis that the female gender, at an age within the limits of early adolescence, the first year of the degree courses, certain university qualifications and a high BMI constituted factors that can influence the appearance or the continuance of risk-related patterns of eating, which could provoke one among various sorts of ED. In consequence, these results determine the need to implement measures that are specifically adapted to university students that stimulate heathy eating habits, improving the perception of their body image and reducing obsessive concerns over thinness.…”

“…Using the EAT-26 test, we were able to determine that, more precisely, the probability of developing AN in our group increased from 3.9% at the start of the study to 8.5% at the end of the academic year. In this specific case, the risk percentages are less than the median prevalence determined by Alhaj et al [5] (17.0%) and other Spanish universities [9] (12.8%), with the EAT-26 test being used to measure these percentages.…”

“…In a study of 1306 university students who completed the SCOFF questionnaire, Martínez-González et al [4] identified 21.2% of females and 15% of males as at risk of having ED. In a study of 422 university students, Castelao-Naval et al [9] showed that 12.8% were at risk of developing AN (evaluated by the EAT-26 questionnaire) and 4.7% of BN (measured by the BITE questionnaire).…”

“…A pesar de ser una cuestión de salud, gracias a la influencia de los medios de comunicación en ocasiones los tca se califican de manera errónea al considerarlos comportamientos a los que incurren los jóvenes para llamar la atención o para ser parte de una moda (33). Lamentablemente, estas falsas creencias sobre los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria restan importancia al tema, desenfocan la atención y afectan la posibilidad de tener ideas correctas sobre la situación real (34).…”
