Abstract: During the female reproductive cycle, estrogen enhances the actions of GnRH on the gonadotrope cell. Recently, we reported that in vivo exposure to estradiol causes a marked enhancement GnRH-induced transcription of the alpha gene promoter in primary cultures of pituitary cells.
