“…One of berry extracts’ best-known actions is their antioxidant effects [ 19 ]. Some studies have highlighted their inhibitory activity against enzymes linked to neurodegenerative diseases [ 20 ], beneficial effects on gastrointestinal disorders [ 21 , 22 , 23 ], ability to reduce streptozotocin-induced oxidative stress in diabetic rats [ 24 ], and wound-healing properties [ 25 ]. These properties can all be related to myrtle extract’s antioxidant activity.…”

“…Utilizing weight-loss inhibitors is one of the strategies employed in the research for anti-diabetes drugs. 36 p-Synephrine administration also markedly altered the liver index, kidney index, pancreas index, spleen index and interscapular brown adipose tissue index. MET, which served as a positive control in the present study, is a first-line clinical diabetes treatment pharmaceutical.…”

“…The current study revealed that MDA value was a marked increased while SOD and GSH values were significantly decreased in diabetic group after 30 days of receiving STZ which indicated oxidative stress. The elevated level of MDA and decrease level of SOD and GSH may have been due to STZ inducing hyperglycemia and causes tissue damage through increasing the lipid peroxidation by-products and decrease the level of antioxidants (Aggul et al 2022 ). On the other side, there was a significant decrease in the level of MDA and significant increase in the level of SOD and GSH when diabetic rats treated with quercetin.…”
