Aim of study: With this study, it was aimed to determine some wild plants in the traditional uses in daily lives by local people for healing, treatment, food, spices, equipment, etc. purposes. Area of study: The study area was Kale and Acıpayam provinces in Denizli between April and October 2016. Material and Methods: Plant materials were provided from villagers and county of Kale and Acıpayam districts. In the identification of plants, "Flora of Turkey and the East Aegean Islands" and "List of Turkish Plants" were used. To determine this, totally 60 people were interviewed face to face. The Informants' Consensus Factor (FIC) and Use Value (UV) formulas were used to analyze the data. Main results: As a result of the surveys conducted with 60 people, 48 plant taxa belonging to 29 families have been identified. It has been determined that the plants with traditional use in the region are mostly used for the treatment of stomach disorders, respiratory diseases and pain relief. The most used parts of the plants have been leaves. The highest UV is Olea europaea L. var. sylvestris L. (0.65), and the lowest UV is Pulicaria dysenterica (L.) Bernh.. (0.05). The highest FIC value (0.86) is cold and flu. Research highlights: Although Viscum album subsp. austriacum (Wiesb.) Vollman has been found to be used for different diseases in the literature, its use as a vasodilator drug was first determined by this study.

IntroductionTurkey has a rich floristic diversity and cultural heritage. Even though many scientific studies have explored the usage of wild plants for the purpose of treatment, foodstuff, or others, efforts carried out in this field are not adequate in documenting this kind of information because of the large surface area of the country and the richness of cultural heritage. In particular, factors such as increased migration from rural areas to urban areas, urbanization, increased coverage of health services, easier accessibility to transportation, and current improvements in technology have gradually reduced the need for ethnobotanical information. Consequently, due to insufficient documentation and the reluctance of new generations to convey such knowledge, this wealth of wisdom is vanishing day by day. Summary1. This account presents information on all aspects of the biology of Ruscus aculeatus L. (Butcher's broom) that are relevant to understanding its ecological characteristics and behaviour. The main topics are presented within the standard framework of the Biological Flora of the British Isles: distribution, habitat, communities, responses to biotic factors, responses to environment, structure and physiology, phenology, floral and seed characters, herbivores and disease, history and conservation. 2. Ruscus aculeatus is a multistemmed monocotyledonous shrub with leaves functionally replaced by cladodes and photosynthetic stems. It is native to southern England primarily in dry shaded woodland and hedgerows (but widely planted elsewhere) often, but not exclusively, on base-rich soil. It is rarely abundant in any habitat, usually forming widely spread discrete clumps. 3. Ruscus aculeatus is remarkably shade tolerant and drought resistant with low water conductance and transpiration, and water storage in the cladodes. Yet unusually for a drought-tolerant stemphotosynthetic plant, it prefers shady environments. 4. The flowers have few if any pollinating mechanisms, low seed production and fruit/seed dispersal are largely ineffective, which may be a relict of its evolution in a tropical Tertiary climate. Population survival primarily depends upon vegetative spread from stout rhizomes, aided by the plant's general unpalatability. 5. Over-collecting for medicinal steroidal saponins has caused some population declines, particularly in eastern Europe, but it is otherwise facing few conservation problems.
