Abstract:Acidic industrial wastewaters pose challenges for applying coordination frameworks as sensors, e.g., for detecting toxic Cr(VI). For strong acids can not only impede the uptake of the analyte ions but also destroy the coordination scaffold itself. Here, we leverage a framework equipped with dense sulfonic group (−SO 3 H) arrays that anchor and sensitize Eu(III) guests to effectuate its strong fluorescence, achieving a recyclable probe with high selectivity and sensitivity for Cr 6+ under harsh acidic conditions… Show more
Close integration of metal nanoparticles (NPs) into a metal-organic framework (MOF) can be leveraged to achieve tailored functionality of the resulting composite structure. Here, we demonstrate a “ship-in-a-bottle” approach to...
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
