“…Further factors at play included management policies, as noted in Corsica (France), where permanent and temporary residents were both more likely to remain within their dwellings instead of evacuating during wildfires possibly due to the island's primary wildfire management policy of "confinement" (Vaiciulyte et al, 2019). Shah et al (2023) highlighted that evacuation decisions may also be impacted by factors relating to the families themselves, such as number of family members, number of adults in the household, and presence of children and of older people.
