Evaluación del cumplimiento de la norma para la transfusión de sangre en un hospital de Costa Rica.

Abstract

Objetivo: Evaluar la aplicación de la normativa de transfusión de componentes sanguíneos por parte de los profesionales de enfermería en un hospital público que pertenece a la seguridad social, en el segundo semestre del año 2016.
 Materiales y Métodos: El estudio es de enfoque cuantitativo, transversal/retrospectivo. Se revisaron los expedientes, de personas transfundidas con componentes sanguíneos, para un total de 263 transfusiones. los criterio de inclusión son transfusiones efectuadas por profesionales de enfermería en los usuarios hospitalizados. Como criterio de exclusión se determinó las transfusiones ejecutadas en los servicios de tránsito y realizadas por otros profesionales en salud. Las variables a estudiar están relacionadas con los lineamientos establecidos en la normativa institucional para administración sanguínea en las tres etapas del proceso transfusional (pre, trans y post.). Los datos fueron incluidos en la base de datos de Survey Monkey, se utilizó estadística descriptiva para el análisis de los mismos.
 Resultados: Se destaca que se incumplen uno o varios aspectos relacionados con las actividades antes, durante y posterior al acto transfusional tanto clínicas y administrativas contempladas en la normativa institucional.
 Conclusión: La investigación evidencia debilidades en la totalidad de transfusiones evaluadas en el estudio, por lo que se requiere capacitación y supervisión sobre el procedimiento correcto de transfusión de componentes sanguíneos; a fin de asegurar el debido cumplimiento de la normativa, de manera que se garantice la seguridad en la atención del usuario y se proteja legalmente a los profesionales involucrados en el proceso transfusional.
