Evaluating and Optimizing Transnational Grid Construction Based on Input-Output Analysis under the Background of Global Energy Interconnection

Abstract: In order to integrate the evaluation and optimization of transnational power grid projects and to quantify the adjustment of energy interconnection schemes, this paper improved the Min DS (minimum distance to strong efficiency frontier) DEA (data envelopment analysis) model and combined it with gray correlation analysis, which can measure the input-output efficiency and quantify and screen the optimization paths. Taking 10 transnational power grid projects and the Asian Energy Internet Program for case analysi… Show more

“…If it is found that the institutional environment of the host country is less than the threshold, it can significantly promote OFDI, and if it exceeds this threshold, it is not significant. Yang Hongen and others pointed out that the promotion effect of signing bit between China and the host country on investment is obviously different due to the differences between the host countries [12]. Compared with regions with better economic development, signing bit has no significant effect on local investment promotion.…”

“…Li et al (2016) analyzed the North East Asian electricity demand and suggests connecting the region's power grids [10]. In terms of input-output interactions, Li and Xiang (2020) evaluated the effectiveness of cross-border grid projects in China, Central Asia, and South Asia [11]. After the commencement of the changes, Liao (2022) focused on the "One Belt, One Road" program while discussing the evolution of China-ASEAN environmental and energy cooperation since 2010 [12].…”

“…Te power industry is a complex system with countless uncertainties, which is unlikely to meet the basic needs of econometric models [6]. Te DEA model is suitable for complex distribution network systems with multiple input and output indexes and can be better applied to evaluate power distribution network investment efciency in various directions, such as distribution network operation, economic efciency, and social and environmental efciency [7][8][9][10]. However, the DEA method has higher requirements on data and mainly focuses on the relative efciency of the evaluation object.…”
