Abstract: Climate change and rainfall variability are driving many farmers to adopt irrigation, who were historically within rain-dependent regions, to sustain crop productivity. In the Mid-Atlantic region, irrigation in agriculture has grown since the 1980s due to rising temperatures and changes in precipitation patterns.
