Developing a simulation model requires precision in the parameters of the wastewater quality components. This study investigated the fractions of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total nitrogen (TN) in influent and effluent at a domestic wastewater treatment plant in Taiwan. As per the COD categorization, raw wastewater includes 12.6% readily biodegradable COD and 45.6% slowly biodegradable COD that can participate in the denitrification process. Meanwhile, up to 62.8% ammonia nitrogen was present in wastewater, according to the TN classification. As a result, when using raw wastewater as a carbon source, the optimal COD/NO3-N was 6, indicating a low denitrification efficiency (merely 50% compared to 95% for acetate as a carbon source). The abundance of slowly biodegradable COD coupled with the denitrification rate of 0.73 mg N/g VSS.hr was approximately half the denitrification rate of readily biodegradable COD (1.67 mg N/g VSS.hr). Furthermore, this study has also shown the potential to use slowly biodegradable carbon sources in the denitrification process by contributing to improving the reduction efficiency by more than 50% when applying both carbon sources.

The objective of the study is to optimize the kinetic reaction value and model the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5) on remaining and removal in the waste stabilization pond model, therefore, the waste stabilization pond system includes an anaerobic, facultative and maturation ponds, the study are employed the initial concentration of BOD5 (44.67±6.79 mg/l) from the wastewater sources at Huakhua village, Xaysettha District, Vientiane Capital, additionally, the evaluation are conducted in 3 hydraulic schemes that includes: plug flow, complete mix(single cell) and complete mixed (equal cells in series), consequently, according to the results found that: kinetic reaction values is 0.49 d-1 and the coefficient of determination (R2) are 0.99, 0.95 and 0.98, respectively.

Ir. H. Djuanda or Jatiluhur reservoir as a multifunction water body with one of utilization as fish cultivation activity. Uneaten feed and fish excretion were organic matter sources. The number of floating net cages was increasing and it caused increasing in organic matter load. The objective of the research was to known organic matter load and decomposition rate (k) and BOD (Biochemical oxygen demand) ultimate (Lo) at Jatiluhur Reservoir. The research was done in February and August 2018 at three locations were Astap, Pasir Canar and Pulau Aki. The result of the research shown was organic load from cultivation activity was 70,595 tons/year. The decomposition rate of organic matter around 0.10-0.25 per day with BOD ultimate around 6.80-8.11 mg/L. The value of Lo was affected by organic matter concentration.Keywords: Ir. H. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui beban masukkan bahan organik dari kegiatan budidaya dan laju dekomposisi bahan organik (k) serta BOD (Biochemical oxygen demand) ultimate (Lo) di Waduk Jatiluhur. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Februari dan Agustus 2018 pada tiga lokasi yaitu Astap, Pasir Canar dan Pulau Aki. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penentuan nilai k dan Lo adalah metode Grafik Thomas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beban masukkan bahan organik dari kegiatan budidaya sebesar 70.595 ton/tahun. Beban masukkan bahan organik telah melebihi daya dukung perairan. Nilai k untuk dekomposisi bahan organik di Waduk Jatiluhur berkisar 0,10-0,25 per hari dengan nilai Lo berkisar 6,80-8,11 mg/L.
