Evaluation and Treatment Analysis of Air Quality Including Particulate Pollutants: A Case Study of Shandong Province, China

Abstract: At present, China’s air pollution and its treatment effect are issues of general concern in the academic circles. Based on the analysis of the development stages of air pollution in China and the development history of China’s air quality standards, we selected 17 cities of Shandong Province, China as the research objects. By expanding China’s existing Air Quality Index System, the air quality of six major pollutants including PM2.5 and PM10 in 17 cities from February 2017 to January 2020 is comprehensively ev… Show more

“…Although the energy structure with coal and other fossil energy being the main energy source cannot be changed in a short period of time, it is still possible to develop clean production technologies in fields such as supercritical coal-fired power generation and coal gasification, etc. by upgrading technologies in order to strengthen clean production in the export sector [ 83 , 84 ]. At the same time, it is necessary to reduce the proportion of coal in the primary energy consumption structure as much as possible.…”

“…The foreign trade growth model discussed above has resulted in China's large export scale with a low added value of export. In addition, China's export is heavily dependent on consumption of resources, causing environmental pollution as well as continuous growth of carbon emissions [16].…”

“…Shandong Province is characterized by highest population density and most developed industry and agriculture in North China. The fast growth of urbanization and industrial production has resulted in high emission of atmospheric pollutants and led to serious health risks of residents in this area [15][16][17]. Under the background illustrated above, the objectives of this study are as follows: (1) to delineate the characteristics of air quality variation in Shandong Province, (2) to identify the main socioeconomic controls on air quality and (3) to determine how the energy supply structure influences the concentrations of pollutants.…”
