Evaluation and Treatment of Patients with Prolactin‐Secreting Pituitary Tumors

Abstract: Six women with secondary amenorrhea and hyperprolactinemia, four of whom had associated galactorrhea, were studied. Four were found to have prolactin-secreting pituitary microadenomas and two had macroadenomas. Suppression of prolactin secretion and stimulation of prolactin, serum growth hormone and thyroid-stimulating hormone secretion were studied, and gonadotropin and adrenocorticotropic hormone reserves were evaluated.
