“…However, effectiveness of radical re-resection for incidental gallbladder carcinomas at the T2 or more advanced stages has been reported [27]. The effectiveness of a radical surgical approach for gallbladder cancer has been the subject of a number of reports [42][43][44][45] from centers in Japan [46][47][48] and the United States. Therefore, there seems to be a need of more radical treatment of gallbladder carcinoma.…”

“…The prognosis of patients resected with no distant metastasis (group A1) was significantly better than that of patients resected with distant metastases of the distant lymph nodes and the liver (group A2) (P= 0.0004). Also, there was no significant difference in the survival rate between the patients resected with distant metastasis (group A2) and chemotherapy cases (group B) [7].…”

“…1,2 Although hepatopancreatoduodenectomy has been performed for advanced stage disease as an attempt at curative resection over the past three decades, only a few sporadic case reports or small patient series have been published and the surgical outcomes of the procedure have not been adequately analyzed. [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] The purpose of the present study was to perform a systematic review of the literature to evaluate the safety and efficacy of hepatopancreatoduodenectomy for BC and GC.…”
