“…The PU copolymer was synthesized according to our previously reported procedure, with slight modications. 24,25 In brief, TDI-80 was charged into a four-neck round-bottom ask equipped with a mechanical stirrer and reux condenser, and then heated to 60 C. Aerwards, a polyol mixture, prepared by mixing EO/ PO with PEG, was added dropwise under a nitrogen atmosphere. The resulting mixtures were vigorously stirred for 6 h at 70 C until the NCO group content reached 5%, which was determined by the titration method using di-n-butylamine.…”

“…10 In particular, hydrophilic polyurethane foams (PUFs) are promising dressing materials owing to their constant maintenance of moist environment and their substantial ability to absorb of exudates. [23][24][25] Incorporation of antimicrobial nanomaterials such as silver, copper oxide, zinc oxide or bio-glass into the wound dressing materials has been shown to be an effective strategy for the treatment of bacterial wound infection. 7,11,24,[26][27][28][29][30] In particular, nanometer-sized metal particles with a high surface area exhibited high antibacterial activity.…”

“…They not only strongly absorb protein constituents in blood but also release high Ca 2+ concentration for greatly accelerating the coagulation cascade. Specifically, Ca 2+ ions promote the secretion of hemostatic mediators of platelets 51,52 and the transformation of fibrinogen to fibrin. 50,51 Hemostatic mechanisms of nanomaterials Table 1 provides an "at-a-glance" summary of various representative hemostatic materials along with characteristic evaluations.…”

“…Based on various modification procedures, PU sponge has been applied for oil-water separation [19][20][21], catalysis [18], enhancement of polymerase chain reaction [22] and wound healing [23]. It is noteworthy that the 3D framework derived from PU sponge with relatively large pores is more prone to a low removal efficiency of heavy metals in aqueous medium.…”
