Abstract:Keratoconus (KC) is a noninflammatory eye condition characterized by progressive corneal ectasia, myopia, and irregular astigmatism, generally with bilateral involvement. The etiology and progression of keratoconus have been closely linked to genetic factors, which appear to be multifactorial. However, the majority of cases are not linked to genetic factors (1,2) .
